What is "ergonomics"? A combination of two Greek words, ergo (meaning work) and nomos (meaning laws), it’s defined as: "The study of workplace equipment design or how to arrange and design devices, machines, or workspace so that people and things interact safely and most efficiently." Incorporating elements from many fields including anatomy, physiology, psychology, and design, the ergonomist makes sure that products and environments are safe, comfortable, and foster maximum efficiency.
