FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

In our time-starved society, with the holidays looming, how do we save time?

LEHIGH VALLEY, PA, December 13, 2005 -- We?re all rushed. Ten years ago nearly two-thirds [62%] of 1300+ American workers polled by the organization company, Day-Timer said they always or frequently felt rushed. Day-Timer polled American workers again in September 2005. Today 60 percent always or frequently feel rushed. We haven?t improved in a decade.

So what can we do to save time and avoid that rushed feeling? Here are the top timesaving activities Day-Timer discovered in its most recent survey; and where possible, a comparison between today?s responses and those from 1994.
  • Postponing household cleaning remained the number-one timesaving activity with 55 percent of respondents ignoring a dirty house to save time versus 60 percent ten years ago.
  • Online activities were huge timesaving strategies with 49 percent of respondents saying they paid bills online and 40 percent saying they shopped online to save ¬time.
  • How and where we eat was key to saving time with eating frozen prepared meals jumping from 18 percent in 1994 to 38 percent today.
  • Forget the fries? Eating at fast food restaurants plummeted from 53 percent in 1994 to 43 percent today.
  • Finally, 44 percent of respondents say they bring home take-out meals, a four percent decrease from 1994.
