Our History
The Day-Timer story began in the 1940s with a single manual
printing press near Allentown, Pennsylvania. Newspaperman and entrepreneur
Warren Dorney wanted to print labels for his business and give his three young
sons something to do. By 1948, it became a thriving business with the
introduction of "Lawyer's Day," a first-generation planner for
attorneys that combined an appointment book, a task list, a detailed time
record, and a work diary. Today, Day-Timer has evolved into a leading global
producer of time management solutions with more than 100 paper and digital
planning products sold online, by catalog, and through major office supply and
retail stores.
